From Dr. M's Desk: Next-Generation Patient Reports

Enhancing Clinical Decision-Making with Actionable Insights

Dear Colleagues,

At QHSLab, we continuously improve how providers access patient insights to support timely interventions and better health outcomes. Our next-generation patient reports are designed to go beyond raw data by suggesting ICD-10 codes, diagnostic insights, and follow-up recommendations based on longitudinal patient trends.

What's New in Our Reports?

  1. Automated ICD-10 Code Suggestions:

    1. Reports now include relevant diagnostic codes based on patient assessments, reducing administrative workload.

    2. Example: A patient with moderate depressive symptoms (PHQ-9) may be flagged with F32.A (Depression, unspecified) and F41.9 (Anxiety disorder, unspecified).

  2. Comparative Health Assessments:

    1. Side-by-side view of baseline vs. current assessments to track symptom progression over time.

    2. Example: PHQ-9 scores worsening from Mild (5-9) to Moderate (10-14) triggers an alert for potential treatment adjustments.

  3. Automated Risk Stratification:

    1. The Q-NEG Score identifies high-risk patients for increased healthcare utilization and behavioral health needs.

    2. The system flags worsening symptoms, such as increased restlessness (R45.1), agitation, or sleep disturbances (F51.9).

  4. Follow-Up & Intervention Guidance:

    1. Reports provide tailored follow-up recommendations based on symptom trends.

    2. If symptoms improve, the system suggests continued monitoring; if they worsen, it recommends adjustments to care plans.

Why This Matters

  1. Efficient Workflow: Reduces manual chart review by providing clear diagnostic insights.

  2. Data-Driven Care: Helps providers track patient progress and adjust interventions proactively.

  3. Stronger Clinical Documentation: Supports evidence-based decision-making and compliance with best practices.

Our goal is to ensure clinicians have the right information at the right time—so patients receive the care they need when needed.

Warm regards,
Dr. M
